What Is The Final Project?
The Final Project In IDEA Was To Design A Clock Using At Least 3 Of The Machines We Learned How To Use In IDEA
Pre-Design
Even Though This Website May Seem To Make It Look Easy, Coming Up With Ideas Are A Bit Challenging. Eventually After Thinking About It, And With Nothing Else Better In Mind, I Decided I Wanted To Create Something Close To Home: A Cut-Out Of Wisconsin With The Waunakee Warriors Logo Embed In It.
What Machines Did I Use?
I Firstly Needed The Laser-Cutter To Cut Out The Shape Of Wisconsin In The Wood. After That I Went To The Vinyl Cutter To Make A Warriors Logo Decal. Finally To Top It Off, I Went To The 3D Printer To Print A Stand For My Clock To Be On (After All We Don't Want It To Fall Over And Break).
Making The Clock
First Things First, I Opened Up Illustrator And Took An Outline of Wisconsin That I Could Use To Show The laser Where To Cut Out:
After I Was Done Making The Design, I Uploaded It To The Laser Cutter And Started Cutting:
Now That I Finished Phase One, It Was Time To Move Onto Phase Two: Making The Decal. To Start This Off, I Went Online To Grab Our School Logo, And Sent It To Illustrator:
After That, I Sent It To The Vinyl Cutter And Pieced It Together:
With The Clock Background And Decal Cut Out, It Was Now Time For Me Create A Stand To Hold This Clock Up, So I Went To Inventor To Create A 3D Model Of A Stand I Could Print Out:
Once I Polished The Design, I Sent It Off To Get 3D Printed:
With Everything Done, All I Had To Do Was Put Everything Into Place:
Summary
How I Would've Managed My Time Would Be To Spend 1-2 Days On Each Step Such As Spending 1 Day Designing The Clock Background, And Another Day Laser Cutting It.
